GREAT NEWS: RBVMA has once again received permission from Rancbo Bernardo Town Center Property Owner's Association to hold our three ceremonies for 2024 at the Memorial Site in Webb Lake Park.

On Memorial Day, 2022, we dedicated the "Patriots Walk". The first six plaques were installed on 18 May 2022 on the sidewalk between the Memorial and Webb Lake . Six additional plaques were installed during the 2023 Memorial Day celebrations at the Site. Candidates for inclusion in the Patriots Walk may be nominated by completing the attached Patriots Walk Nomination Form

The Rancho Bernardo Veterans Memorial Association’s “Patriots Walk” offers the opportunity to publicly memorialize your veterans with an engraved plaque installed in the sidewalk located around the perimeter of the Veterans Memorial. The intent for these plaques is to honor individual veterans who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces, either in times of peace or conflict.

The general appearance of all the plaques is the same, though each plaque is unique in how it identifies a veteran. In addition to name, dates, and rank, the veteran’s branch of service emblem is available for each plaque.

The following two images show the Patriots Walk as it appeared in 2022. Click on the image to view a full resolution photo. (Note: The full resolution images show all of the details of the plaques. Viewing of full resolution images requires scrolling left and right and up and down:)

Each plaque is available in exchange for a tax deductible donation to the Rancho Bernardo Veterans Memorial Association in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00).

A Dedication Ceremony, sponsored by the Rancho Bernardo Veterans Memorial Association, will occur each time a group of plaques are installed. The Memorial Association will coordinate with plaque donors in order to ensure an appropriate dedication for their respective plaques.

Please contact an Officer of the Rancho Bernardo Veterans Memorial Association at the following email address in order to obtain a Patriots Walk plaque:

The 2021 ceremony was held as we have in past years. Quilts of Valor's Awards Coordinator, Kay Lettington, participated through an award of a beautiful quilt to the keynote speaker, Sam Magtanong. A photo of the award presentation with Kay, Peggy Johnson, and Tom Lettington is here.
